Pakistani actor-model-social-activist Veena Mallik, currently enjoying her stint as a host on news channel India TV’s Bigg Toss, is reportedly in talks with the channel for another show. Based on cricket, it is will run every night during the forthcoming IPL matches that start from April 8.

She doesn’t confirm, but she does say that she is looking forward to the T-20 tournament. “It’s too early to talk about anything on the lines of IPL. The World Cup is not over yet,” says Veena.

But most importantly Mallik is happy with having landed herself a chance to brush up her analytical knowledge of the game. “I’ve followed cricket passionately all my life. Now, when I sit with some of the biggest names in the game, I feel like an achiever. It’s been nearly a month that I’ve been discussing the nuances of the WC matches. Each one has helped my perspective evolve,” she adds.

So, which country, according to the actor, who was once dating a Pakistani cricketer, has the highest chances of taking the Cup? “It has to be between India, Sri Lanka or Pakistan,” says Mallik. “India and Sri Lanka are playing exceptionally well, so their chances are higher. The Cup isn’t leaving Asia this year.”

In the course of the show, the actor-model’s friend and co-contestant from Bigg Boss 4, Ashmit Patel, paid her a visit on her birthday. “He came and it actually surprised me. I wasn’t expecting him to be there,” says Mallik. “He really made my birthday special.”

The Pakistani celebrity has also been getting extra ‘attention’ from her co-host, a boxer. Does that mean that the actor, whose family in Pakistan is currently threatened by the Taliban, will field more trouble? “I don’t think so,” she says. “I didn’t do anything wrong, even in Bigg Boss. There are threats, but my family and I are trying to find our way around it. As for this boxer’s affection towards me, I’m old enough to handle such men.”
