Veena Malik

Veena Malik was born on 26 February 1984 is a Pakistani film actress, model, social worker and anchor. She has established herself as one of the leading women in the Pakistani television and film industry.

Veena Malik has also worked as a representative at the World Health Organization for two years and sponsors two children at the SOS Children’s Village, an NGO based in Pakistan working with orphaned children. She also featured as a housemate in the Indian reality television show Bigg Boss 4.

Career:

During her studies, Veena Malik worked on and off as a comedian in few televisions shows and series but at that time she never took it as a career. At student time, she appeared in Javed Sheikh’s Yeh Dil Aap Ka Huwa (2002); the film was a commercial success.

She made her actual debut with hosting of a very famous program of GEO TV          “Hum Sb Umeed sy hain“in 2007 in which she was hailed for her comedic parodies.

In 2006, she appeared in UAE based film “Wapsi “

In 2007, she graced the red carpet event of the Lux Style Awards and was awarded as being the ‘most stylish celebrity on the carpet’.

In 2008, Veena Malik appeared in Shehzad Rafique’s Punjabi film, Mohabbatan Sachiyan. The film went on to become a commercial success

In 2009, she started hosting “Miss Dunya” Program on Dunya TV.

Bigg Boss Season 4:

In September 2010, Veena Malik was approached to become part of the Indian television reality show, Bigg Boss Season 4, hosted by Salman Khan. She accepted the offer and remained a part of the show that started on October 3, 2010. She remained in the Bigg Boss show for 12 weeks. She was the final 6 contestants out of 14 finalists. Veena Malik was also part of the finale of the show.

Social work:

Humanism led Veena Malik in the field of social work to help the down trodden people. She visited SOS children village and helped the neglected children. She has sponsored 2 children from SOS village. She has worked with WHO (World Health Organization) for two years and visited 14 cities of Pakistan to create awareness of Polio among people. She frequently visits Shoukat Khanum Cancer Hospital to spread happiness among special children. In future she is planning to provide water purification plants throughout the country.
