Never mind how ‘hurt’ she is about her former cricketer boyfriend, Mohammad Asif’s alleged involvement in a betting scandal, Pakistani actor Veena Malik has made her intentions clear: make an entry into Bollywood courtesy the controversy.

“Thanks to the controversy, she’s now an international celebrity, isn’t it? She thinks it’s time that she looked for opportunities in Bollywood,” said her spokesperson Sohail Rashid from Lahore, Pakistan.

Veena confirmed to After Hrs that she’s looking for a break in Mumbai and thinks that the controversy has given her ample opportunity to do that.
“The scandal has created an opportunity for her in Bollywood. Veena always liked controversies.

In fact, a special page has been created called ‘scandals’ on her home page,”adds Sohail.

DNA is in possession of two nude pictures resembling the actor that were leaked to the media. Veena, however, denied it was her.

“She never admits to the fact that she was an escort to Asif when he was in London. She got a few pictures clicked with him. If Veena claims to be his girlfriend, then why has she sued the cricketer over pending payments? Asif plans to take action against her once the controversy dies down,” informs a friend of cricketer Mohammad Asif

Lahore, Sept 7 : Former girlfriend of Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Asif, Veena Malik, has alleged that the match-fixing controversy is an Indian scheme to tarnish Pakistani cricket.

Indian bookie Dheeraj Dixit, Bollywood actress Neetu Chandra and a model named Paael were involved in fixing cricket matches and she had given evidence against them to the International Cricket Council (ICC), the Daily Times quoted Veena Malik, as saying.

“All clues in match-fixing lead to Indian soil. India is the hub of betting in cricket,” she claimed.

She said she had also informed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) about match-fixing but no one ” paid any heed to my words.”

Malik, an actress and TV host in Pakistan, said that other countries such as England, Australia, India, etc. had also been involved in match-fixing cases earlier, but Pakistan cricket’s reputation was being maligned.

She also claimed that ever since she had exposed Indian bookies, Indian media were after her, alleging her involvement in the spot-fixing scandal.

Talking about the spot-fixing allegations against Asif, she said that those who bartered national honour for their personal gains must be punished.

She claimed to have “provided all proof against Asif to the ICC in the larger interest of the country and the game.” (ANI)

After she hit headlines last week for saying she has proof of ‘match fixing’ activities by her ex-boyfriend, cricketer Mohd Asif, Pakistani actor Veena Malik now claims that Asif had also physically abused her in the past.

Speaking to HT City from Lahore, she says, “I can’t keep my mouth shut if I know the truth.” Veena, 26, says she chanced upon incriminating evidence against Asif when she suspected him of having an affair with an Indian girl and hired detectives to trace his calls. “The calls turned out to be from an Indian man involved in match fixing,” she claims. Veena Malik hands over ‘proof’

Calcutta/Lahore: Mohammed Asif’s former girlfriend, actress-model Veena Malik, has handed over “proof” of his alleged links with Indian bookies to an official of the ICC’s Anti-Corruption and Security Unit.

Hasan Raza, who is a top official of the ICC’s Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) for South Asia, met Malik at her residence here after she alleged that Asif was involved in match-fixing and she had “ample” proof of this.

“I handed over Asif’s voice recordings with the bookie and some other related information to the ICC official,” Malik told a TV channel.

“From head to toe, Pakistani players and officials are involved in match-fixing. I had gone with Asif to Bangkok before Pakistan’s tour of Australia. Asif told me he was offered $40,000 by an Indian bookie to under-perform in Australia but he demanded $ 200,000.”

When The Telegraph called the number on which Veena had been available on Wednesday night, a man named Sohail Rashid who claimed to be her manager said: “It is true that Veena met ICC officials today and handed over some crucial evidence. However, we are not at liberty to say the nature of the discussions that took place.”
