It is ironic when one plans a surprise, and instead is at the receiving end. That’s exactly what happened to Veena Malik, whose efforts for a Valentine’s surprise for Ashmit Patel went in vain. And if that anti-climax wasn’t bad enough, she was unable to meet him even for the next few days, as she had to fly directly from Lahore to Delhi for her next television assignment.

Malik and Patel met at the Bigg Boss House after signing up with the reality show that had approached them for their controversial background. Malik is famous for threatening to expose the betting racket in Pakistani cricket and Patel, for a MMS scandal.

Not only did the two get along during their reality show, but they also made headlines for their sizzling chemistry. Moreover, they’re said to be seeing each other after the show ended last month.

Malik, who had returned home due to the legal cases against her, had signed up for a cricket World Cup-based show on a news channel in India. While the channel officials had booked her ticket for a Lahore-Delhi flight on February 15, Malik was keen to fly in earlier to spend V-Day with Patel.

Unfortunately, all her attempts to get a seat on a Mumbai-bound flight came to naught. So she had no option but to travel to India as planned and postpone her meeting with Patel.

Confirming her V-Day plans going awry, Malik said, “Yes, I was planning to surprise Ashmit, but instead, I was in for an unpleasant surprise. I had planned a lot of things and had even bought a present for him. I had requested the channel to give me a ticket via Mumbai instead of a direct flight to Delhi, but I guess I wasn’t destined to spend this Valentine’s Day with Ashmit. Nonetheless, I’m eagerly looking forward to meeting him in the coming days.”
