The International Cricket Council”s anti-corruption unit has called Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Asif”s actress ex-girlfriend to give evidence in a match-fixing investigation.
Veena Malik”s media manager Sohail Rashid says the actress has been approached by the ICC. Asif and Mohammad Amir were implicated in spot fixing for allegedly deliberately bowling no-balls at set times during a test match between Pakistan and England at Lord”s last week.
The actress claimed in an interview with Associated Press Television News that an Indian man frequently used to call Asif on his mobile number, which raised her suspicions of match fixing.
The ICC declined comment regarding the investigation.
