Life has just got tougher for Mohammad Asif, with his ex-girlfriend claiming she has proofs of the Pakistan pacer’s involvement in match-fixing.
Vena Malik, a renowned Pakistani actress has also admitted Asif has been in close contacts with bookmakers in the recent past. She revealed the name of an Indian bookie Dikshit, who, according to her was regularly in touch with Asif for spot-fixing.
“Asif used to call up this Indian bookmaker and other bookies as well on the phone of his servant. I have evidence of the messages he exchanged with the bookies,” she said as she waved around a paper having a list of messages.
Malik and Asif had a tumultuous break-up earlier in the year with the actress filing a court case demanding around Rs.13 million from the cricketer, who denied owing anything to her. After creating the ugly scene, both eventually reached a mutual settlement on the intervention of a mutual friend.
Veena also said Asif had told her Pakistan will not win any Test series till 2010 and he’ll be earning good money through spot-fixing, without affecting the result of the game.
