ISLAMABAD (AP) — The International Cricket Council’s anti-corruption unit has called Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Asif’s actress ex-girlfriend to give evidence in a match-fixing investigation.

Veena Malik’s media manager Sohail Rashid says the actress has been approached by the ICC. Asif and Mohammad Amir were implicated in spot fixing for allegedly deliberately bowling no-balls at set times during a test match between Pakistan and England at Lord’s last week.

The actress claimed in an interview with Associated Press Television News that an Indian man frequently used to call Asif on his mobile number, which raised her suspicions of match fixing.

The ICC declined comment regarding the investigation.

Veena Malik’s manager Sohail Rashid on Wednesday said the actress has been approached by the ICC. Asif and teammate Mohammad Amir have been implicated in a spot fixing scandal uncovered in a British tabloid newspaper sting.

“They have approached Ms. Malik and will be soon meeting with her,” Rashid told mediamen.

Rashid was not sure when and where the meeting will be held.

An ICC spokesman said the game’s governing body does not comment on the ongoing investigations of its anti-corruption unit.

The actress suspects that an Indian national, who often called and sent text messages to Asif was involving in illegal gambling.

“I was surprised why a guy from India is calling so frequently and sending texts to Asif,” Malik said.

“That was quite suspicious for me …later on he (Asif) went to Thailand to have meeting with this particular guy.”

In England on Wednesday, three Pakistan cricketers implicated in match-fixing allegations were sent to London to face an inquiry with Pakistani officials.

Test captain Salman Butt and pace bowlers Asif and Amir left the team hotel in Taunton to head to London.

Pakistan team manager Yawar Saeed said PCB chairman Ijaz Butt had ordered Thursday’s inquiry at the Pakistan High Commission in in London.

Pakistan Film Star and TV Actress Veena Malik, who was also an ex-girlfriend of the Pakistani fast bowler Muhammad Asif will meet with the International Cricket Council’s anti-corruption unit with respect to the spot-fixing investigation. ICC asked her to provide the evidence of the spot fixing, which she claim earlier that she has the evidence of spot-fixing.

Sohaill Rashid the manager of Film Star Veena Malik talking to the media said that on Wednesday ICC anti-corruption unit approached to the star for the evidence. He more added Veena Malik will soon meet with the ICC officials but not sure about when and where the meeting will be held.

Earlier Muhammad Asif, Salman Butt and Muhammad Amir have been caught up in a spot fixing scandal, which published in a british newspaper and also video on the internet.
