Mumbai: When the Colors started its reality show Big Boss 4 then it created controversy as the Shiv Sainiks were opposed to the presence of two Pakistan stars in the show. The Shiv Sena has threatened to disrupt the airing of the show. Besides, they had demanded an apology from the makers of the show.
Now reports have surfaced that Shiv Sena, a far-right Hindu organization, had done U-turn on the whole issue. A party leader said on Friday that the party has decided to withdraw its agitation after the Colors apologized for roping in two Pakistani stars in the show. Besides, the leader of the Hindu fundamentalist party said it has allowed cable operators to air Colors.
Shiv Sena leader Anil Parab said: “We have received a written apology from Colors which stated that they did not mean to hurt anybody’s sentiments and that they regret the move. We had no issues with the channel per se. It is the show we are protesting against.”
This has been confirmed by a Colors official. He said the channel had submitted a letter to the Shiv Sena. But he also made it clear that it was not an apology. After this development the Shiv Sena representative have decided to meet executives of Colors. It is understood that once again they will raise the same issue of removal of two Pakistani stars — Veena Malik and Begum Nawazish Ali, from the most-popular reality show that is being headed by Bollywood actor Salman Khan.
“If they fail to remove the stars, our agitation continues,” he said. The Shiv Sena has been holding protests since the show started. Their only agenda is to disqualify Pakistani actors from the show. This is not one off incident. The Siv Sianiks have always opposed the presence of Pakistani players inside India. Besides, they are against any peace talks with Pakistan as they regard the country as India’s enemy number one. Also, they say Pakistan should be punished for sponsoring terrorism in India.
