Veena Malik not to seek asylum in India over Taliban threat

Pakistani artiste Veena Malik, who has reportedly been threatened by the Taliban, has said she will not seek asylum in India.
Malik, who is currently in India appearing on television shows for the ICC World Cup 2011, said she had received a letter from the Taliban a few days back via a media house in Pakistan. She had spoken to representatives of the media house, who confirmed its legitimacy, she added.
Malik said the letter has been sent from a Ahmed Masood of the Taliban, a daily reports. The letter threatened to give Malik ‘exemplary punishment for her work in India’, and also threatened her family, said the Pakistani actress, adding that she would hold the government responsible if anything happened to them.
Malik, who became a household name in India following her stint on reality TV show Bigg Boss, said she will not seek asylum in India.
She will return to Pakistan as running away is not an option, she added.
Malik also said that Indian authorities had provided her with security, and that she was getting in touch with Pakistani authorities to inform them of the situation.

People in Pakistan feel that because Rahat Fateh Ali Khan saab is an artiste so he should have been treated with leniency. I disagree. In my opinion he was let off lightly with just a fine. But the Indian laws are equally applicable to Indians and Pakistanis. Look at what Salman Khan has gone through for his black-buck case or Sanjay Dutt in spite of being Indians they’ve faced the full impact of the laws here. I feel happy that the laws are followed so scrupulously in India. Rahat saab was earning so much money in India. He should’ve paid his taxes in the proper way.
So you think the hue and cry against his detention in Pakistan was uncalled-for?
If a female Pakistani artiste had been similarly detained in India. Pakistani reactions would’ve been different. Because that was Rahat Fateh Ali Khan Saab they said, let him go. If it was Veena Malik they’d have said, where did she get this money from? Mere oppar itna kichad oochala jata. I’d like to tell my people, khuda ke vaste double standards khatam karo. Let’s treat men and women equally.

Veena Malik to host more cricket shows?

Pakistani actor-model-social-activist Veena Mallik, currently enjoying her stint as a host on news channel India TV’s Bigg Toss, is reportedly in talks with the channel for another show. Based on cricket, it is will run every night during the forthcoming IPL matches that start from April 8.
She doesn’t confirm, but she does say that she is looking forward to the T-20 tournament. “It’s too early to talk about anything on the lines of IPL. The World Cup is not over yet,” says Veena.
But most importantly Mallik is happy with having landed herself a chance to brush up her analytical knowledge of the game. “I’ve followed cricket passionately all my life. Now, when I sit with some of the biggest names in the game, I feel like an achiever. It’s been nearly a month that I’ve been discussing the nuances of the WC matches. Each one has helped my perspective evolve,” she adds.

Veena Malik from Big Boss an Indian reality show. Yes I do not join such a brave girl with Pakistan anymore. She was never born to live in Pakistan, where everyone treat women as soft target. Veena Malik was come in light when she joined a famous reality show of India in the end of year 2010. Being an only foreigner plus rival participant she got unusual attraction from all other participants on that show. I have become a big fan of Veena Malik not for her acting or any entertainment skills, I just proud on her to face such a stupid and cruel media. 
Nowadays Veena Malik is on hot seat in Pakistan to justify her acts in that show. Some saints even have provided the fatwa against Veena Malik and some dummy followers ask Pakistani government to restrict her entry in her own country. Being an adult, being a native of free nation, being a human I ask that why only Veena Malik came under spotlight? Why everyone is trying to teach and verify a old commercial girl according to Islam and Shariah? Why any saint does not speak against Mr. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan who sings (which is also not allowed in ISLAM)? Why not anyone ask Mr. Atif Aslam to stop creating videos with non mehram and half nude girls? I simply ask why Veena Malik is questionable? Because she is a women? a soft target?

Actress Veena Malik on Thursday claimed she had been threatened by the Taliban.
Malik, who is currently in India appearing on television shows for the cricket World Cup, told Express 24/7 that she had received a letter from the Taliban four days ago via a media house in Pakistan. On the authentication of the letter, Malik said she had spoken to representatives of the media house, who confirmed its legitimacy.

Osama’s gang threatens Veena

Veena Malik, who became a household name after appearing on the Indian reality show, has received death threats from Taliban.
She is in possession of a letter (a copy of which is available with TOI) by Maulana Masood, Mujaheddin leader connected with Osama bin Laden, accusing her of humiliating Islam and Pakistan’s name during her stay in the Bigg Boss’ house. The helpless model-turned-TV star has decided to seek asylum in other countries.
The actress who cosied up with male contestants on the show and flaunted her curves unabashedly was criticised by the media in her country. Says the defiant girl, “I’m an artist and I would have felt guilty if I had done something wrong, but I haven’t. I have worn the same clothes in Pakistan and behaved in the same fashion back home, so suddenly what’s my fault? I cannot be issued death threats for participating in a TV show in India.”
