KARACHI – Veena Malik has started following the footprints of Hollywood star Angelina Julie in adopting small babies.
Firstly, Hadiqa Kiani adopted a baby and set it in tradition, lately actress Veena Malik has adopted two small children reports said.
Although, she failed to make a successful mark on the big screen, but has produced a great impact on mini screen as she showed versatility in various shows of private TV channels. Now, she is to follow the footsteps of Hollywood’s most famous actress Angelina Julie, who adopted children and is rendering this service with utmost sincerity.
Nicoli Kidman, Sharon Stone, Jane Fonda and various others have also adopted children before.
The most famous celebrity couple Julie-Pitt holds the most aggressive mark to raise this activity. In spite of have three children of their own; they have adopted three children around the world, one from Cambodia, another girl from Ethiopia and a little boy from Vietnam. But not like Mia Farrow, the renowned American actress, out of whose fifteen children, eleven are adopted. Many other Hollywood celebs adopted kids likewise Michelle Pfeiffer adopted baby Claudia Rose; Diane Keaton adopted Dexter Dean and Duke and Calista Flockhart adopted Liam.
There were rumours of pretty woman’s star Julia Roberts for adopting children, till she had twins of her own!!
Even Madonna, after having two children of her own, went ahead with her former husband Guy Ritchie and adopted little David. Though, the adoption did not come in handy, as far as paper work is concerned.
The adoptive style is more common in the West, but it is taking grounds in Pakistan too. But here only the single women are more involved in practicing the rising tradition of adopting babies through renowned agencies.
Adoption in the United States is not nearly as strictly regulated as in Britain and the laws vary from state to state. Although one cannot technically purchase a baby, large amount of money exchange hands in the form of living costs and expenses.
In the same way, age restrictions and marital status are all taken into account in Britain, but not in the United States.
Another significant aspect is that in Pakistan, the adopted children belong to the same inherent culture and set-up whereas in the case of foreign adoption, the celebs in foreign lands feel that children in poor or developing countries are more needy than the children in their own home countries orphanages.
Mia Farrow is said to have adopted children with greater and a wider range of disabilities. In 1973, she adopted a Vietnamese war orphan with asthma. Then came Isaiah, a crack-addicted baby; 12- year-old Tam, who was blind; Gabriel, a paraplegic; and Thaddeus, a polio victim who had been abandoned at a Calcutta railway station. Farrow had suffered from the same disease as a child.
