For all the controversies she courts, Pakistani starlet Veena Malik has surely managed a sizeable fan following if this latest incident is anything to go by.

When the Bigg Boss bombshell landed at Kempe Gowda bus station – the busiest hub of Bangalore – for an outdoor shoot on Wednesday evening, the traffic in the area came to a complete standstill, It was a similar story when the shoot resumed on Thursday morning.

The shoot was for Veena’s maiden Kannada venture – the much-hyped Dirty Picture: Silk Sakkath Maga, a regional remake of Milan Luthria’s stupendous The Dirty Picture.

The repercussions of the traffic jam were felt all the way up to the neighbouring central business districts, prompting the police to divert traffic from the bus station area.

Shooting for the film started last week in studios and this was the first outdoor schedule.

Though the film-makers had informed the police and employed security personnel for the shoot, the crowd was beyond control.

The police had to resort to mild caning to disperse the people. The shooting started around 4:30 pm on Wednesday.

The filmmakers’ ploy to keep Veena’s presence a secret, though, didn’t work out as swarms of excited fans took over the area once a few people at the bus stand recognised the starlet as she emerged from her vanity van. Some overzealous ones even broke through the security cordo.
