The Pakistani starlet, Veena Malik, has no plans of going back to her country since she is enjoying her stay in India. The 28-year-old, who is considered as one of the most controversial actresses, has told the media that she is getting very good offers in India and therefore she has no plans of leaving the country.
“I will be here till the time I keep getting offers and good work.
People in India just love me and that s the reason I am here. My work is appreciated and it feels good when you see yourself being loved by so many people.
Veena Malik is currently working on the South remake of Ekta Kapoor’s film ‘The Dirty Picture’, which set many records at the box office last year.
In the movie, Veena will play the same role of Silk Smitha which was played by Vidya Balan and the actress says she has also gained weight like Vidya.
She added, “I am working hard on the South remake of The Dirty Picture wherein I m playing Silk Smitha.
I have gained weight for the movie; until a few days I was 48kg, but now I am 55! Also, I am learning Kannada for the film and am singing a song in the movie as well.”
Vidya Balan wasn’t considered among the top heroines in the tinsel town but ‘The Dirty Picture’ changed everything for her. The film brought her a ‘National Award’ and perhaps this is a reason why Veena also has high expectations from the film.
“I am exploring all aspects of cinema and this is just the beginning of my acting career.”
Veena locked many headlines a few days back because it was being assumed as if she is dating the director of the movie, Hemant Madhukar.
However, when asked about it, Veena denied and said she only shares a good equation with her director and there is nothing more to it.
Well, all said and done, let’s see how Veena Malik performs in the remake of ‘The Dirty Picture’.

Veena Malik talks work and controversies….
Veena Malik, during her last visit to Delhi, made her intentions clear saying she is here to stay and will be working in India till the time she gets good offers. Stating her desire to stay in here, she said, “I will be here till the time I keep getting offers and good work. People in India just love me and that’s the reason I am here. My work is appreciated and it feels good when you see yourself being loved by so many people. I am working hard on the South remake of The Dirty Picture wherein I’m playing Silk Smitha. On being asked about her expectations from the film Silk Sakkath Maga, the Hindi version of which got Vidya Balan a National Award, Veena said, “Vidya was just superb as Silk in The Dirty Picture and she deserved the National Award for it. As an actress she is flawless. So it won’t be fair to compare her, and the role she played, with me because there is no comparison between the two of us.”
When we asked her about news of her cozying up to director Hemant Madhukar, Veena explained that they shares a good work relationship with him. She said, “We share a good working relationship as professionals and we’re not dating.”
Talking controversies, what about the flak she faced for the bold shoot she did for a magazine? “There are many people in my country, and in India too, who are ready with their criticism all the time. They will ridicule you when you do anything. And I did get a lot of criticism from there but I don’t think that they are a threat to my life. And if there are people who hate me, there are also others who love me.”
