Patna: Pakistani star Veena Malik, known for her role in the reality television show Big Boss season 4, inaugurated ‘Angithee’ restaurant on Jagdeo Path in the presence of hundreds of her screaming fans and autograph seekers.
Born Zahida Malik, the actress and supermodel, wearing a light color sari inaugurated the restaurant by greeting people and working in the kitchen side by side with other cooks.
“Patna looks a lot like Rawalpindi and brings back a lot of memory of my childhood,” she said while trying out chapatti, naan, kebob, dal, and mutton at the restaurant.
Explaining her decision to wear sari for today’s occasion, Malik said that this was the season of Navratra and Durga Puja and nothing could be more appropriate for the season than a traditional sari.
Giving details about her upcoming film Dirty Picture, Malik said that she was interested in acting in a Bhojpuri film and if a good role came her way, she would certainly give it a serious thought.
Staying away from politics, the 28-year old actress said that former Chief Minister of Bihar was very well known and popular in Pakistan but she was sure Nitish Kumar would also be well-received in her home country following his visit to Pakistan this year.

Pakistani actress Veena Malik, who is on her maiden visit to Bihar, has expressed her desire to work in regional Bhojpuri films.
Malik, 28, who had come to Patna to inaugurate a restaurant on Bailey road today, said she has seen and heard a lot about Bhojpuri films and would love to work in a movie made in the state’s regional dialect.
“I have seen a lot of Bhojpuri films online and read about it… If given a chance I would love to work in a Bhojpuri film,” she said.
She also compared Patna with Rawalpindi, where she was born in 1984.
“Patna resembles Rawalpindi. After visiting Patna the memory of Rawalpindi came to my mind at once,” she said.
The Pakistani actress said RJD President and former Railway minister Lalu Prasad was quite popular in her country and she had met him in the past.
Malik told PTI that she had heard a lot about the good work done by Chief Minister Nitish
Kumar for development of Bihar and said his visit to Pakistan next month was eagerly awaited by people there.
The actress, who tasted preparations of the restaurant like kabab, mutton, dal and chapati, said she was impressed by the food here.
She also interacted with youths who had thronged the venue in large numbers.
“I was literally taken aback to see that there are so many fans of mine in Patna also,” she said.
Veena will be seen next in Kannada version of “The Dirty Picture”.
