Mohammad Asif’s ex-girl friend has launched a scathing attack at the bowler and accused him of being directly involved in match-fixing.

As a panelist on a news channel, Asif’s former girl friend Veena Malik accused the fast bowler of being ‘criminal minded’ and a ‘serial match-fixer.’

Here’s what she had to say:

-Asif reportedly told her that Pakistan will not win a series until 2010

-She has accused Asif of bribing an Indian doctor during his doping trial at the Indian Premier League

-He is supposed to have told Mohammad Amir “I have had more court cases than your age (18)”

-He reportedly told Veena Malik: “Stop praying….we will not win a single match during the tour to Australia.”

Asif’s alleged dealings:

“He went to Bangkok to meet some bookmakers within a notice of 24 hours. This is when we were in a relationship. The conversation on the phone before the tour of Australia was specifically about fixing.”

-Kalim Imran supposedly provided Asif with nandrolone injections. Malik claims she had asked what had happened to Asif’s performance to which Asif replied, “That wasn’t me, that was the nandrolone.”

-Indian bookie’s incoming text: Asif used to send texts to Dhiraj Dixit from his servant’s numbers.

Conversation: Dhiraj says: “I can give you 40,000 dollars for this deal. Asif says: “No I want 200,000 dollars.” Dhiraj says: I would like some more team members for this deal.”

She adds: “After this Asif disappeared for a day. After some checks I found out he had gone to Bangkok and returned within 24 hours. Upon returning and finding out that I had discovered something, Asif became a little shady and we started having fights.”

-When Pakistan started losing in Australia, I jokingly said, “For god’s sake win a match.” To this he replied, “We won’t win anything until 2010.”

Veena Malik, a former model and TV host, has said she is willing to part of any hearing related to match-fixing and will surely testify.

Lord’s was gloomy on Sunday. “In more ways than one,’’ said a Sky Sports commentator, referring to the cloud of match-fixing and not the dark overhead cover in London. “These clouds have always been there over the Pakistan team,” claims Veena Malik, a famous Pakistan film and TV star. Malik is better known as Mohammad Asif’s estranged girlfriend.

If Malik is to be believed, the controversial fast bowler, currently under investigation for spot fixing, was always involved in such activities. The actress reveals that before the Pakistan team flew to Australia last year, Asif had made a sudden visit to Bangkok to meet certain bookies. “Since his comeback, he is totally involved in this. Once he told me that the entire Pakistan team is involved. From head to toe, the Pakistan players and officials are involved,’’ Malik toldDNA on Sunday.

Giving details of Asif’s Bangkok visit, she said, “One day, he got business class tickets and went to Bangkok. He told me that he was offered $40,000. I advised him not to be part of such activities but he did not listen. Instead, he went ahead and demanded $200,000 from them.’’

Veena, however, doesn’t know how much Asif was eventually paid. “I was not there in Australia and I do not know in what way he was involved. However, later on, it came to light that the Australia series was fixed. The PCB has evidence of this,’’ she remarked. The actress told this paper she provided Asif’s travel details to the Pakistan Cricket Board.

According to Malik, Asif used to get calls and texts from certain people and he would call them from his servant’s phone. The actress is also sure that Asif is associated with persons of the Indian betting syndicate.

She also alleged that Asif, who was caught for doping during IPL1, bribed some well-known people to get his ban reduced to one year. ‘’He borrowed $3 million from me to pay to certain people to have his ban reduced to one year (from two years). You should investigate who the person is.’’

Malik added that Asif was told by his bookie friends that they expected him to bring in more people as “one person’s involvement alone will not help”. “He was initially not friends with Mohammad Aamer. Now I understand that they are good friends.
These two (Asif and Aamer) and Salman Butt are a close unit. And as for Kamran Akmal, every one knows about him,’’ Malik said.

As if the latest spot-fixing controversy was not enough to mar Mohammad Asif’s career, former friend and actor Veena Malik claimed in a programme on Express TV to have evidence of the fast bowler’s involvement in match-fixing. Asif, who played in the last Test against England at Lord’s, is one of the four players alleged to have played a role in spot-fixing after he bowled a no-ball exactly at a time specified by bookmaker Mazhar Majeed.

“I have proof that Asif is involved in match-fixing. On the Australian tour, he talked to me and said Pakistan will not win any series in 2010,” said Veena.

She added that Asif’s influence was rubbing off on the 18-year-old Mohammad Aamir as well, also alleged to have played a role in spot-fixing.

“He said that he called Aamir and influenced him to get involved on the Australian tour. ‘There are as many controversial cases against me as your age’ were his words to Aamir.

“He got out of the doping case in the Indian Premier League after bribing the doctor Rs3 million, an amount that I lent him when we were friends.” The programme host, Kamran Shahid, tried to contact Asif and his lawyer but both were unavailable for comment during the show.

According to The News of the World, they were involved in a 150,000-pound betting scam with London-based agent Mazhar Majeed.

The tabloid claims that they have footage of Majeed accepting money, and in return, he detailed what would happen and when on the field of play next day.
