Ashmit Patel surely had a field day getting all the attention as he celebrated his birthday in style, at a party hosted by Alok Aggarwal.
His flirt-buddy Veena Malik flew down from Pakistan to stuff ‘Ash’mit’s mouth with his birthday cake. But the highlight of the night was how he was sandwiched between Veena and Sara Khan (he did get immensely cozy with both on the reality show). Sara, who is set to break off from her husband Ali Merchant was seen living it up and grooving to the music.
She certainly won’t mind letting her hair loose when the world is going for her neck! Meanwhile, one-crore babe Shweta Tiwari was the eye candy of the night as Hrishant Goswami tried his level best to bury hatchets with her. Money certainly talks, eh? (wink) Soni Razdan, Teejay Sidhu and Karnvir Bohra, Rahul Dev and Aarti Chhabria were also spotted.

Ashmit will help Veena carry out awareness campaigns for her charity in Pakistan that works for thalassemia patients. The two will travel across India and Pakistan to bring awareness about the disease among the people.
A thalassemia minor himself, Ashmit confirmed the news, “We are indeed going to carry out this program. We also plan to provide monetary help to the patients, as the treatment is very expensive. The other details are yet to be worked out about this drive.”

Pakistani model and actor Veena Malik, who tried to seduce audiences with her oomph on Bigg Boss, is set for another stint on Indian television.
TOI has learned that Veena received offers from three different channels to anchor shows related to the ICC World Cup beginning in February, especially for matches in which Pakistan is playing, given her knowledge of the game, its controversies and her association with some players who came under the scanner for match-fixing allegations.
Confirming the news, Veena told BT, “I will choose one offer. I have had a good experience in the Indian TV industry and this will further cement my position in India. I’m also looking forward to re-establish my bond with the game.” However, since it was Veena who played the role of whistle-blower and pointed out the rampant betting that was going on in her country’s national side, she may be courting controversy again.

Veena, Pam to sort out water woes

Actor-model Veena Malik, Pakistan’s controversial export to India for Bigg Boss 4, will be getting together with Baywatch babe Pamela Anderson to help solve water problems in India and Pakistan.Malik confirms the news.
“Pamela is aware of what I do with the World Health
Organisation in Pakistan. I’ve done a lot of work during the recent floods back home. She came with a water filter that she’s been promoting as a part of an international water conservation project and distributed them in countries that were badly hit by shortage of clean drinking water,” says Malik, who will touch base with the American actor to take the project forward.
Malik and Anderson decided on the partnership when the latter entered Bigg Boss for three days with the water filter that costs just Rs.50 to demonstrate how it works.“Pamela had told me that she wanted to visit Pakistan but couldn’t manage to get a visa. The filter is cheap, but lasts for more than a decade. It’s cost-effective and would suit the pockets of middle-class people in both countries,” asserts Malik, who has decided to ensure that Anderson gets to visit her country to promote her filter.
Bigg Boss 4 wrapped up last Saturday. Malik exited two weeks before, but still hasn’t returned home. “I spoke to my mother and she advised me to stay in India because the situation back home is not great. There’s been a lot of furore after I shared a few kisses with Ashmit Patel,” she rues, adding that they never actually kissed, only hugged. “I didn’t know hugging promotes obscenity. But since there are security concerns in Pakistan, I have kept my whereabouts a secret. But I want to go back soon. I’m really homesick!”

I feel Indian men are wow! They are very good-looking and intelligent, and it would be an honour and pleasure to become India ki bahu!” Since she has visa clearance for some more days, would she care to find her “special man” in India, or try to meet Ashmit on a more intimate level? “I’ll surely meet him and let’s see where it goes from there! I want a man who is sensitive, caring and respects me,” says she.
Shoe off lady!
Looking at the way she refused to get off those pointed heels in the reality show, it’s clear that Veena is besotted with her shoes. Rag her that she’s going the Imelda Marcos way, and pat comes the rejoinder: “Imelda had 3000 pairs of shoes in all, and I’ve over 500 already! Trust me, I will beat her soon! Since the lady has happily been tagged as ‘the Rakhi Sawant of Pakistan’ by the media in India as well as Pakistan, does that simile irritate her a bit? Veena replies with complete nonchalance: “I’ve not met her or interacted with her, so I can’t comment on that. Moreover, I can’t please everybody, so I’d rather make myself happy and be my own gal!”

After coming out of the celebrity house, has she got some films or TV offers in India? “Before I entered the reality show, I was offered a film called Bombay Touch and yet another untitled film, which I didn’t approve of. There have been enquiries from producers, but I’m busy rehearsing for the Friday Finale of the reality show. Since I don’t have an India number, I’ll take a call on this issue when I go back to Pakistan. Then my manager will get in touch with the producers and I will choose carefully,” says she before saying ‘hasta la vista’.

Pakistani actress Veena Malik, who made a splash on ‘Bigg Boss’, may groove to the beats of popular item number ‘Sheila ki Jawani’ in the grand finale of the Indian reality show.
Veena has had everyone — from intellectuals to ordinary bloggers — devoting reams to her to tell the world how much they love or hate her. But no one really seems able to ignore her.
She was apparently chosen to do ‘Sheila…’ because she seemed to be the “most suitable contestant” to perform to the song, a source close to the 32-year-old actress told The Express Tribune newspaper.
However, Veena and her manager Sohail Rashid are playing safe by neither denying nor confirming the news. “She has definitely been very popular on the show. She was nominated seven times to be evicted but the Indians voted for her six times, which means she has a large fan following over there,” Rashid said.

LAHORE: Veena Malik will perform on Tees Maar Khan’s popular song “Sheila Ke Jawani” in the grand finale for which the arrangements have been finalised, a source close to the actor told The Express Tribune. The administration of Colors TV, a private television channel that runs the reality show, has taken the decision to turn Veena Malik into “Sheila” of the mini screen since she was the most suitable contestant of the show to perform on the song, the source added. The song originally stars Katrina Kaif and is doing great on the charts.
While the rumour is abuzz, Malik and her manager Sohail Rashid have neither confirmed nor ruled out the possibility of Malik performing in the finale. “She has definitely been very popular during the show. She was nominated seven times to be evicted but the Indians voted for her six times which means she has a large fan following over there. Considering this fact, this it is quite possible that she’ll perform but I cannot confirm or rule it out [at the moment],” Rashid told The Express Tribune.

Well-known Pakistani TV actor Ali Saleem, better known as Begum Nawazish Ali, fails to understand why the Shiv Sena was targetting him and fellow Pakistani Veena Mallik for featuring in ‘Bigg Boss 4′, but wants to settle the issue with party supremo Bal Thackeray over a cup of tea.
“I just fail to understand why the Shiv Sena did what they did. It has come as a surprise to me because we (he and Veena Mallik) came here as guests. We were invited, and the least we expected was hospitality from the Indians,” Ali, who was evicted from the Bigg Boss house in a recent episode said.

Like other Pakistani celebrities, Veena Malik too has a website. It is veenamalik.com.pk, and not veenamalik.net, which claims to be a fansite, and certainly not veenamalik.com, which has nothing to do with the film/TV star.
I thought I could write a piece about Veena Malik’s page similar to the one I wrote when I discovered Meera’s website.
But after going through it, I was actually quite impressed.
First of all, the website is not new. I just found it recently. Also, the vast amount of options and the information available on the page simply amazed me, not because it is done in a high tech fashion (it’s not) but because I didn’t think that our celebrities acknowledged the online media, and by that I specifically mean the internet, enough to make their presence felt there.
